This antique silver seal top spoon is in excellent condition with crisp detailing to the cast seal top terminal and a good unworn bowl.
Dating from the reign of King Charles I, this handsome piece has a typical hexagonal stem and fig-shaped bowl and is a good, conventional example of a seal top spoon. The lion's head hallmark to the bowl is clearly punched and retains its original detail and the hallmarks to the reverse stem are a little worn, but remain legible with the "EH" maker's mark for the specialist spoon maker Edward Hole.
The spoon is a fine example of its type and is offered at a very competitive price.
