Spoon - Seal-top - London 1587 by William Cawdell - 15.8cm long; 47g - CV/8751

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a fabulous example of an Elizabethan period silver spoon. It portrays all the features one would expect from a spoon of this period: fig-shape bowl, hexagonal stem and squat seal terminal with hexagonal plate. There is a later engraved crest with "LM" block initials to the plate. The condition is first rate with a full-sized, unworn bowl and an excellent set of hallmarks. The ""W" inside "C" makers mark is for William Cawdell, who was one of the leading specialist spoonmakers of the late 16th century. A great spoon in fine condition.
