Sugar Nips - Rococo scrolls - London circa 1750 by Alexander Osborne - 123mm long; 44g - CN/3284

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

A fabulous pair of mid-18th century elaborate tea tongs in the high Rococo taste. These silver sugar nips bear an engraved crest to one side of the central pivot plate and an engraved flower motif to the other. The finger grips are clearly stamped with the "AO" makers mark and the lion passant punch helps accurately date these tongs to the latter part of the 1739-55 period. They are in excellent original condition with neither damage nor repair.
