Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a very beautiful and extremely unusual form of chased Victorian tea and coffee service. We have not previously encountered this form of tea and coffee service before as it was made (& presumably designed) by a scarcely found lady silversmith.

The lower body has narrow, vertical fluting above which is a chased band of foliage. Two cherubs are holding a bird in one hand and a ribbon and swag that form a cartouche in the other. There is a cartouche to both sides of each piece, one bears an original engraved cipher and the other remains vacant. The tea and coffee pot spouts and handles are chased with acanthus leaves and foliage.

The interiors of the cream jug and sugar bowl are gilt. A fantastic quality service in superb condition.

Coffee pot: 230mm high; 102mm diameter body; Teapot: 165mm high, 121mm diameter body; Sugar Bowl: 114mm high, 102mm diameter body; Cream/milk jug: 114mm high, 76mm diameter body; volume of tea and coffee pots is 1300ml (2 1/4 pints); 2085 grams (67oz) weight
