Wine Label - Vidonia; Oval Neck Ring - Newcastle c.1790 by John Langlands & John Robertson - 4.5cm wide; 5.5cm diameter ring; 14g - AT/4918

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This attractive silver wine label has rarity appeal on three levels: Newcastle-made, the scarce name of Vidonia and it is displayed as a neck ring rather than with the standard belcher chain.

A further bonus for this oval ticket is the crested shield-shaped cartouche surmount which is also the point of fixing to the circular neck ring. The reverse side is clearly marked for the most important 18thC Newcastle silversmiths, Langlands & Robertson. There is a minor flaw on the reverse side adjacent to the marks, but otherwise it is in fine condition throughout.

Vidonia is a dry white wine from Tenerife.
