Caddy Spoon - Vine Leaf - London 1848 by Elizabeth Eaton - 9cm long; 15.5g - RA/9559
Bucking the trend of the familiar line-up of Eaton workshop silver caddy spoons (fine quality examples of standard flatware patterns), this very pleasing example has a bowl in the form of a vine leaf and a tendril handle adorned with a bunch of grapes and a further leaf acting as thumb grip.
This good looking spoon is well modeled, retains crisp detail and is in excellent condition with clear hallmarks for this premier lady silversmith.
