Walnut Vinaigrette, 1880 by Mordan

We are offering for sale a beautiful novelty silver vinaigrette in the form of a walnut. This Victorian vinaigrette was made by the ingenious firm of Sampson Mordan who are famed for their novelty ideas. The Walnut vinaigrette is one of their most sought after models.

The walnut is appropriately textured to the outside and opening the hinge reveals a most attractive gilt interior with hinged grille. The grille is superbly pierced & engraved and bears the name of the makers. A full set of hallmarks are located around the rim and the cover and grille bear appropriate part marks.
