Stork Picture-back Mote Spoon

Details

This is an extremely rare picture back silver mote spoon featuring a stork or heron among reeds. The raised picture to the reverse of the bowl is very worn (hence the highly competitive price), but nevertheless it is the first time we have encountered this scene on a mote spoon! The bowl is finely pierced and the tip of the stem is diamond-shaped for unclogging blocked teapot grills. The spoon is in excellent condition throughout.
