Charles II Trefid Spoon, 1679

Details

Lawrence Coles was one of the major top quality spoonmakers of the second-half of the 17th century and this Charles II silver trefid spoon is typical of his wares. The spoon has a bold rattail to the reverse of the stem and mid-18th century engraved initials to the front terminal. A major bonus with this spoon are the superb hallmarks with a very clear date letter and "LC" maker's mark. The spoon is in fine condition.
