Table Spoons (4) - Old English Feather-edge Pattern - London 1774 by Hester Bateman - 23cm long; 265g combined weight - VP/3884

Made by the Queen of English Silversmiths, this is a lovely set of four Georgian silver table spoons.

These Old English pattern table spoons are decorated with engraved feather edging which was the cutting edge of fashion and design during the early 1770's. They are also engraved with a fabulous engraved crest that features a lion rampant stood up against a tree. With an average weight of over 85 grams each, these are a very heavy set of spoons that ooze quality in the hand.

The spoons are in fine condition with good crisp decoration and crests and have unworn bowl that retain their thick tips. The bottom-struck hallmarks vary in their legibility, but importantly all the script "HB" maker's marks for Hester Bateman remain clear. A great set of spoons that are ideal for serving purpose.
