Table Spoons (6) - Old English Pattern - London 1782 by Hester Bateman - 22.5cm long; 445g combined weight - AR/2666

This is a superb set of Hester Bateman silver table spoons with fabulous Wyvern crests to their terminals.

This George III set has all the things a collector could ask for: age, quality and condition, clear sets of hallmarks, interesting crests and made by one of the most sought after 18th century silversmiths - Hester Bateman.

Made in the Old English pattern, these top quality spoons have a good weight averaging almost 75 grams each with the crests adding an interesting feature to the front terminals. The Wyvern is a mythical two-legged beast with wings, an eagle's head and a curled dragon's tail. The spoons have good, unworn bowls and a lovely antique patina. The hallmarks are super-crisp and include the all important cursive script "HB" maker's mark for Hester Bateman. A great set!
