Sold
Dessert Spoon - Bright-cut Celtic Point - Cork circa 1780 by John Nicholson - 17.4cm long; 29g - BG/4253
This is a good-looking Irish silver dessert spoon with provincial marks for the Cork maker John Nicholson.
Dating from the final quarter of the 18th century, this attractive Celtic Point spoon is decorated with bright-cut engraving and a crest to the cartouche featuring a hand holding an open book. The spoon is clearly stamped to the reverse side with the "STERLING" and "IN" in script maker's mark. A great spoon in fine condition!
