This is an early and attractive silver caddy spoon made by George Smith III in London circa 1780.

Caddy spoons made in London prior to 1781 were part marked with no date letter, often with just the maker's mark as in this case. This George III spoon has a short cuff-shaped handle with pretty bright cut engraved decoration and a plain, circular bowl. The spoon is in excellent condition.
