Table Spoon - Hanoverian Pattern - Exeter 1781 by Thomas Eustace - 20.5cm long; 47g - RC/5564

This is a good, Exeter-made silver table spoon in Hanoverian pattern.

Made during the George III period, this table spoon has bottom-struck hallmarks and includes the "TE" in script maker's mark for the silversmith Thomas Eustace. Interestingly, by 1781 the London Assay Ofice had changed its marking technique and was top-marking table spoons and so obviously there was a time lag before the change made its way across to the west country!

The front of the stem is engraved with a crest and the overall condition is excellent.
