Table Spoon - Old English pattern; bright-cut engraved - London 1786 by Hester Bateman - 21cm long; 58g - JA/3224

The famous lady silversmith, Hester Bateman, made some beautifully elegant silverware and this table spoon is typical of her output.

This Georgian spoon has a superbly decorated handle with clever bright-cut engraving and original monogram in script to the terminal. The condition is first class with an unworn bowl, antique patina and an excellent set of London hallmarks. A fine example from one of the most sought after makers of the 18th century.
