Table Spoon - Old English Pattern; Bright-cut Engraved - London 1786 by Hester Bateman - 20cm long; 47g - WR/1520d

This is a lovely, elegant example of a bright-cut engraved George III period silver table spoon made by the Queen of English silversmiths, Hester Bateman.

The spoon is delicately decorated along the handle and has original betrothal initials to the terminal which are helpfully dated to 1787. The spoon is in excellent, crisp condition with an unworn bowl. The hallmarks to the reverse remain clear and include the iconic "HB" in script maker's mark for Hester Bateman.
