The Service
We are pleased to be offering an excellent 20th Century silver 6 place settings canteen in Hanoverian Rattail Pattern. The service provides for seven pieces per 6 place settings with an option to purchase six pairs of fish eaters. All the pieces were made in Sheffield with the spoons and forks made by William Hutton & Sons during the 1922 to 1946 period and the knives (with stainless steel blades) were made in 1991. Each piece benefits from having no personalised engravings.
Hanoverian Rattail Pattern
Hanoverian Rattail was first in fashion between 1710 and 1730 and has been reproduced since the 1880’s. It was the first flatware pattern in the UK to be used for complete canteens. Due to its elegant lines and proportions it has continued to enjoy great popularity and is probably the most sought after traditional pattern. The front of each piece has a distinctive central ridge, whilst the spoons have the trademark rattail extension to the handle on the reverse side of the bowl.

Presentation
This canteen is offered loose. We can supply anti-tarnish cutlery rolls on request. These navy blue rolls have individual pockets to hold 12 items per roll and are available for £15 each.
As with all the canteens available from our web-site, we are happy to send a sample place setting for approval, on receipt of a fully refundable surety payment, prior to purchasing this canteen.
