Caddy Spoon - Die-stamped Circular Bowl - Birmingham 1807 by Matthew Linwood - 7cm long - YE/2909

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Matthew Linwood was one of the finest makers of silver caddy spoons and this is a great example with his distinctive circular, die-stamped bowl.

The spoon has a bifurcated handle with diaper-style engraving and an original script engraved monogram to the terminal. The bowl is elegantly decorated with concentric circles and a band of laurel leaves. This Georgian spoon is in excellent condition with a clear set of Birmingham hallmarks.

Similar caddy spoons with die-stamped bowls are shown in Norie on plate 61.
