A very attractive Georgian silver nutmeg grater in the form of an egg with a chased fluted and floral design. This dainty Georgian spice grater is in excellent condition with original removable steel rasp that is revealed by way of a screw thread. The inside is marked "SM" for Samuel Meriton who was a small worker and specialised in making nutmeg graters during the 1770's and 80's.
