Serving Spoons (pair) - Bacchanalian pattern - London 1879 by Lias & Wakely - 23.1cm long; 201g - YS/4499a

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are a fabulous pair of long handled silver serving spoons in the scarce and highly desirable Bacchanalian pattern. The handles of these servers are decorated with a classical scene of happy semi-clad revellers drinking wine within a garden landscape. They are celebrating the festival of Bacchus and the reverse side of the bowl has a mask of this Greek God of the grape harvest and wine. The reverse side is further decorated with wine related objects and has an engraved crest. This Regency period pattern was originally designed by Paul Storr for Rundell, Bridge & Rundell.

These fine spoons are in excellent condition with crisp decoration.
