Table Spoons (pair) - Old English pattern; Bright-cut Engraved Edge - London 1780 by William Champion - 20.8cm long; 112g combined weight - YV/2244

These are a very handsome pair of George III silver table spoons with beautifully bright-cut engraved edges to the handles and a bold crest of a lion holding a cruciform to the terminals.

The spoons have clear bottom-struck hallmarks with the "WC" mark of William Champion who was working between 1779 and 1790 following his apprenticeship with the spoonmaker Thomas Evans. These spoons are in fine condition with the engraving being especially crisp.
