Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are a superb pair of Scottish provincial silver basting spoons that were made by the Inverness based partnership of Jamieson & Naughten. Measuring 12" long, these are large antique spoons that are sometimes also known as stuffing, gravy, hash or simply long-handled serving spoons.

The front terminals bear superb engraved crests that depict an otter with the motto "Debonnaire" surmount in Scottish style. This is the crest and motto of the Scottish branch of the Bethune (or Beaton) family. The condition of these Georgian spoons is truly fabulous - just look at the the thick bowl tips, plus they retain a lovely original patina too.
