Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Punch magazine was a long-running 19th and 20th century weekly satirical magazine that was first published in 1841 and eventually closed in 2002. This book-style silver vesta case (match safe) bears an enamelled copy of the famous January 1849 front cover showing Mr Punch and his dog Toby, designed by Richard Doyle. The box opens up to reveal a gilt interior, plus there is a match striker to one end. The condition throughout is excellent.
