Rattail Silver Table Spoon, 1725 Arnett & Pocock
Sold
Table Spoon - Hanoverian Rattail pattern - London 1725 by Arnott & Pocock - 20.5cm long; 58g - DN/4072
Dating from the reign of King George I this is a fabulous silver table spoon in Hanoverian rattail.
The spoon was made by the spoonmaking partnership of Hugh Arnett and Edward Pocock and has a good, heavy feel in the hand. The reverse terminal is enraved with an original "R.H" engraving and a later "MAH" monogram in script - this presumably was an ancestor of the original owner and the style of engraving suggests a late 18th century date.
This good quality table spoon is in excellent condition with a well-defined rattail to the reverse of the bowl and good, antique patina.
