Spoon - Trefid pattern - London 1679 by Lawrence Coles - 17.6cm long; 40g - PR/5841</p>

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a very competitively priced Charles II period silver trefid spoon with the addition of laceback decoration to the reverse of the bowl and to the front terminal. Furthermore the reverse terminal is engraved with an interesting set of betrothal triangles. Presumably the couple with a surname beginning with P (J & F first names) were the original recipients and later gave the spoon to a second happy couple with surname beginning with "W" - perhaps their daughter and son-in-law? The condition is very good with an unworn bowl and just some minor loss of detail to the laceback on the reverse side of the bowl - the decoration to the front remains crisp.
