Caddy Spoon - Die-stamped - Birmingham 1851 by Thomas Dones - 9.9cm long - DB/4690

This is a really unusual silver caddy spoon made by the rarely encountered silversmith Thomas Dones.

Thomas Dones was working in Birmingham for just a few short years at the start of the 1850's. This lovely-looking caddy spoon has die-stamped, floral scroll decoration around the scalloped bowl. It is similarly adorned to the handle and is in superb condition with a clear set of hallmarks.
