Caddy Spoon - Fiddle & Fish tail - London 1813 by Thomas James - 10.8cm long; 13.7g - GV/3394

Thomas James made some fantastic silver caddy spoons and this is such an example with some of his trademark features.

This large George III period silver caddy spoon has a fiddle pattern handle with James's favoured "fishtail" shoulders towards the bowl. The egg-shaped bowl and interior engraved decoration are also features that Thomas James often incorporated into his designs. This handsome spoon is in fine condition with original script engraved initials to the front terminal and a good set of London hallmarks.
