Caddy Spoon - Tubular Handle and Engraved Elliptical bowl - Birmingham 1809 by William Wardell - 7cm, 7g - CF/4529

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a lovely looking Georgian silver tea caddy spoon made by the "mysterious W" - so called by John Norie in "Caddy Spoons: An Illustrated Guide".

Silver caddy spoons with the single letter maker's mark "W" are relatively scarce and Norie later went to reveal the maker to be William Wardell. This is a particularly attractive example from his workshop with a hollow, tubular handle and elliptical bowl with internal engraving and clear Birmingham hallmarks. The spoon is in excellent condition throughout.
