Caddy Spoon - External Galleried Bowl with Engraved Flower - Birmingham 1811 by John Lawrence - 7.6cm long - DH/2964

This unusual and very attractive silver caddy spoon was made in Birmingham by John Lawrence.

The spoon features a bifurcated handle (i.e. splits in two) and an unusual gallery around the outside, back of the bowl. One of Lawrence's trademark features is the "hooded bowl" which is an overlap over the back of the bowl interior - this is the opposite way around! The bowl itself is beautifully engraved with a flower, whilst the handle is also engraved and has a vacant cartouche to the terminal.

A lovely Georgian spoon in fine condition with clear hallmarks (n.b. in the photos the handle join to the bowl looks a little untidy, but this is not easily seen in the hand, is certainly original and definitely not a repair!).
