This is a fine Georgian silver wine label pierced with the title "GRAVE" to the front.
The bottle ticket was made by Susanna Barker and dates just prior to her retirement in 1793. The label is a cut-cornered rectangular form with the hallmarks to the reverse partly affected by the pierced lettering. Excellent condition.
Graves is a sub-region of the wine growing area around Bordeaux and is situated on the left bank of the Garonne, upstream from the city of Bordeaux.
