Basting Spoon - Old English Pattern - London 1787 by Hester Bateman - 28.7cm long; 94g - LM/4076

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This elegant, long, silver serving spoon has the special distinction of having been made by the Queen of English Silversmiths, Hester Bateman.

Made during the reign of King George III, this 11.5" long basting spoon is in the Old English pattern and has a very unusual crest of a swan's neck and head erased held aloft engraved to the front terminal. The important Georgian hallmarks to the reverse remain clear including a superb example of the desirable cursive script "HB" of the lady silversmith maker. A great spoon in fine condition.
