Caddy Spoon - Bright-cut Engraved; Scallop Bowl - London 1785 by Hester Bateman - 7.6cm long; 9g - BK/5658

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Hester Bateman made some lovely silver caddy spoons and this example is typical of her most popular form - deep, scallop bowl with a bright-cut engraved handle. The cartouche to the front terminal is engraved with original script initials.

This Georgian caddy spoon is in excellent condition with a great set of hallmarks that not include a clear example of the sought after "HB" in script maker's mark, but also a crisp stamping of the scarce incuse duty mark (only used between December 1784 and May 1786).
