Dating from the late 18th century, this navette-shaped silver patch box has the unusual feature of a hinged, rather than a pull-off cover. The top of this prettily engraved box has a navette-shaped cartouche that remains free from personalised engravings. The inside is fully hallmarked for the specialist Birmingham "toy maker", Samuel Pemberton and the box is in fine condition.
