Vinaigrette - Tartan Engine-turned Decoration - Birmingham 1841 by Nathaniel Mills - 3.4cm x 2cm; 17g - LM/1977

This good-looking silver vinaigrette has the bonus of being made by the best of the Birmingham box makers - Nathaniel Mills.

The outside of the box is decorated with a tartan-style engine turning with a vacant shield-shaped cartouche to the centre. The gilt, hinged grille to the interior is decorated with a pierced and engraved floral spray. The viniagrette is in excellent condition with the hallmarks spread between the base and inside cover.
