Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is an extremely rare silver wine label made by the scarcely encountered and much sought-after partnership of Peter & Jonathan Bateman.

The label is a plain crescent-shape and bears the title RUM. The all important hallmarks to the reverse side remain crisp and include the cherished "PB/IB" maker's mark. The condition is excellent.

Upon Hester Bateman’s retirement in December 1790, she handed over the family business to her two sons Peter and Jonathan. Their short-lived partnership only lasted for five months between 7th December 1790 and 19th April 1791 when it was prematurely ended by the early death of Jonathan and his widow Ann took over his position in the business.
